MyItemizer ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how MyItemizer handles your information when you use our mobile application.
MyItemizer is a privacy-first application. All your data stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal information on external servers.
MyItemizer stores the following information exclusively on your device:
Item Information: Product names, brands, model numbers, purchase prices, and purchase dates
Warranty Information: Warranty lengths, expiration dates, and warranty types
Photos: Images of receipts, products, manuals, and related documentation
Payment Methods: Names of credit cards or payment methods (no card numbers or financial details)
Categories: Custom category names you create
Reminders: Warranty expiration reminders and document upload reminders
Notes: Any notes or descriptions you add to items
Personal identification information
Financial information (credit card numbers, bank accounts)
Location data
Browsing history
Contacts
Any data to external servers or third parties
MyItemizer requests the following permissions to function properly:
Purpose: To capture photos of receipts, products, and warranty documents, and to scan product barcodes
Usage: Photos are saved directly to the app's private storage on your device. When scanning barcodes, only the barcode number is sent to UPCItemDB API for product information lookup
Your Control: You can deny this permission; the app will still function, but you won't be able to take photos or scan barcodes within the app
Purpose: To allow you to select existing photos from your device to add to items
Usage: Selected photos are copied to the app's private storage
Your Control: You can deny this permission; the app will still function, but you won't be able to select photos from your gallery
Purpose: To send you warranty expiration reminders and document upload reminders
Usage: Reminders are generated locally on your device based on the warranty dates you enter
Your Control: You can deny this permission or disable notifications in your device settings
MyItemizer operates primarily offline and stores all your personal data locally on your device. The app does not collect, transmit, or store your personal information on external servers.
The app makes network requests only in the following specific circumstance:
Barcode Scanning (Optional Feature):
When: You choose to scan a product barcode using the barcode scanner feature
What is sent: Only the barcode number (UPC/EAN code) scanned from the product
Where it's sent: UPC Item DB API (https://api.upcitemdb.com) - a third-party product information database
What is received: Public product information (product name, brand, model number) if available in their database
Your control: This feature is entirely optional. You can always enter product information manually without using the barcode scanner
What is NOT Transmitted:
The app does NOT send or share:
Your personal information
Purchase prices or financial data
Warranty information
Photos of receipts or products
Payment method information
Any other data you enter in the app
Device identifiers or location data
All of your personal data (purchases, warranties, photos, notes, etc.) remains exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to any server.
You have complete control over your data:
Export: You can export all your data at any time from within the app
Delete: You can delete individual items or clear all data from the app settings
Backup: If you enable device backups (through your device's operating system), your MyItemizer data may be included in those backups
Uninstall: Uninstalling the app will delete all MyItemizer data from your device
If you have enabled Android's Auto Backup feature, your device's operating system may back up MyItemizer data to your Google account. This backup is controlled by Android's backup system, not by MyItemizer. You can manage Android backups in your device's Settings > System > Backup.
MyItemizer uses one optional third-party service:
Purpose: Product information lookup when you scan a barcode
Provider: UPC Item DB (https://www.upcitemdb.com)
Data Sent: Only the barcode number (UPC/EAN code)
Data Received: Public product information (name, brand, model) if available
Privacy Policy: https://www.upcitemdb.com/privacy-policy
Your Control: This feature is entirely optional. You can skip barcode scanning and enter product details manually
Important: This API is used only when you actively choose to scan a barcode. The barcode number is the only data transmitted, and it contains no personal information about you. The API simply looks up publicly available product information associated with that barcode.

Local Storage Only: All your personal data (purchases, warranties, photos, notes, payment methods) is stored in your device's private app storage, which is protected by your device's operating system
Personal Data Never Transmitted: Your personal information, purchase details, warranty data, and photos never leave your device
Secure API Communication: The optional barcode lookup feature uses HTTPS encryption when sending barcode numbers to UPC Item DB. Barcode numbers contain no personal information

If there are significant changes, we will notify you through the app
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
MyItemizer retains your data indefinitely on your device unless you:
